2025-26 Guidelines for Illness
Please take a moment to review the district guidelines for illness before sending your child to school.
General Return to School Guidelines:
- No fever without using fever-reducing medicine for at least 24 hours.
- Rash is resolved, or a note is provided by a healthcare provider.
- Uncovered skin sores are resolved, or are crusting and a note is provided by a healthcare provider.
- Vomiting has resolved overnight, and the child can hold down food/liquids in the morning.
- Diarrhea has improved and the child is no longer having accidents, or bowel movements are no more than 2 above normal per 24-hour period.
- Respiratory virus symptoms are improved for at least 24 hours. In general, “symptoms are improved” means that a person no longer feels ill, they can keep up and do their daily routine just as they did before they were ill, and any remaining symptoms, such as a cough or runny nose, are very mild, intermittent, or infrequent and do not interfere with school.
