Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides
financial assistance to state and local educational agencies to meet
the needs of at-risk children. The goal of Title I is to provide
instructional services and activities which support students in
meeting the state's challenging performance standards.
The Title I program will provide your
child with extra educational assistance beyond the regular
classroom.
All elementary schools in Vallivue School District have schoolwide
Title 1 status. This means that all students in may receive
additional help if needed. In most cases, this is done in the
classroom with the help of an additional teacher or para-professional.
The other delivery method for Title 1 is targeted assistance. In
this type of program, only selected students are identified for
additional help based on need.
Parent involvement means the participation of parents in regular,
two-way, meaningful communication involving student academic
learning. The Vallivue School District collaborates with Title I
parents at the district level by encouraging their participation on
the district parent advisory committee. We are always looking for
parental input and invite you to join us. If you are interested in
participating on the committee please contact
the District Office.
