FRENCH CLUB
The French Club members are dedicated to creating French cultural
experiences. In order to accomplish this goal, we hold many
money-making projects, such as selling suckers and holding
concessions at basketball games. The students earn points according
to how involved each member is--attendance at meeings, participation
in money-making, attendance at cultural activities etc. Then the
points are given to students as money to pay for their attendance at
French functions.
During the Christmas season we hold a French cooking experience
in the cooking lab of the Adult Living classroom. We bake
traditional Christmas pastries and cookies. We have a Chrismas party
with the goodies, learning about French Christmas customs.
We view French movies whenever possible.
The French Club has planned the annual Peter Schott's French Club
Dinner. Students earn points throughout the year to help pay for the
dinner. An authentic five course meal of French cuisine is prepared
by the restaurant and enjoyed by the members who travel by bus for
the event.
In the spring when the weather permits, we hold a "Pique-nique
Francais" in one of the parks as a final activity.
