Oct. 27-30

 

Math

   Our new chapter will focus on multiplication facts, and what are numbers.  We will be working with true/false statements, open sentences, and the usage of parentheses in a number sentence.  They need to know their multiplication facts. 

Idaho History

Our new unit will be about the Native Americans that lived in Idaho. There were 7 different tribes. I hope you're enjoying working on the Indian Villages. 
Science

Science is following our reading series this unit.  This week it's all about the decomposers in nature.  

Language Arts

  •  Reading:  Our new unit focuses on Nature's Delicate balance.  The story  this week is "What Rot!" Skills will be summarizing, clarifying and visualizing. Reading minutes are due on Tuesday. Students are required to read 100 minutes per week.  

Spelling:  New words came home on Friday, Oct. 23rd, test Friday, Oct. 30th. They are all antonyms.

English:  We are working the correct way to write titles this week.

 to practice their math facts each night for 5 minutes!

Can you solve this problem?

New problem: There are seven dogs. They each have six puppies. How many dogs and puppies are there altogether? (20 auction tickets  will be awarded for correct answers.) Just  e-mail the answers to me. 

Answer to last week's problem:  What do you call a six-sided polygon? An eight sided polygon? (Hexagon and octagon)

Nov. 2nd -- Indian village due

Nov. 4th  -- Parent/teacher conferences 4-8 p.m.

Nov. 5th -- Parent/teacher conferences 8 a.m.-8 p.m. (no school for students)

Nov. 6th -- No school
